Abbie Searle – otherwise known as AbbieAnne (patchwork quilting & textiles).
I’m a designer / maker of all things patchwork, I love to teach and try to inspire my students to add their own bit of flare to designs (or design developments as I like to call it - many things get called design developments in my teaching world! !)
I’ve been patchworking for nearly 30 years and teaching p&q for nearly 25 years. I’ve found it’s a hobby that becomes addictive, well it has for me anyway. It gives such pleasure and therapy along the way.
Galla GROTTO is an artist from France. She studied interior design, painting and textile arts. Among her favorite stories, Woman occupies an important place in all its manifestations. Galla has invented her own technique and creates intricate compositions using a palette of colorful fabrics. She repeatedly won prizes in international competitions: in Canada, Holland, Italy, France. She conducts many workshops and seminars. Often acts as an invited guest at prestigious festivals.
My name is Thérèse Kelly, and I have been crafting and stitching all my life. I try to bring connections of our land into my embroidery, through colour, texture and design. I use locally sourced Irish Linen in all my embroidery kits. It is my aim to inspire young and old to take up embroidery, to add their twist to my pieces to make them personal to them.
Orna is a highly skilled fashion and textile designer with a background in machine and hand embroidery. Jules is a skilful maker with crafting in her genes. She began her sewing journey as a teenager when she found that the available fashion wasn’t funky enough for her! So she ‘apprenticed’ herself to her dressmaker grandma and her love of all things craft was born. Her skills quickly encompassed knitting and crochet followed by studies in a wide range of crafts from pottery to parchment; before concentrating on the soft crafts and jewellery making she is best known for today.
Jules is a freelance tutor, designer, and demonstrator. Jules is a popular workshop tutor, being an avid supporter of passing on her knowledge, hints, and tips. Jules can be found at many of the larger craft shows enthusiastically teaching in the workshop studios or demonstrating on the main stages. She also offers individual and small group tuition on a diverse range of skills. She is a pattern author and has made frequent T.V. Guest Designer appearances. She is a level 6 Diploma Assessor.
Jules is always open to crafting ideas and likes to take inspiration from her family and the natural world around her. She is an avid supporter of re-purposing and recycling and feels that fabric craft is the perfect medium. She is currently designing a fabric portfolio.
