This slightly longer class will enable you to stitch a textile landscape reminiscent of the rolling hills, seashore and big skies of Donegal. Henny is a well known textile artist who specialises in creating beautiful landscapes using textiles, yarn and lots of imagination.

Candlewicking is a contemporary needlework with its roots in American history. In early America, trade limitations made decorative yarns and threads difficult to purchase. Resourceful Colonial housewives learnt to decorate their homes with the fibres they had at hand, which included calico. The cotton wicking used in candle making was embroidered onto the calico to create magnificent texturd bedspreads.

Reverse applique is a textile technique commonly used in Mola art in Panama , where layers of fabric are stacked and a design cut out through the top layer to reveal the fabric underneath. You will leave this work shop with your beautiful applique encased in a sweet little hoop.
Jack is a new teacher at Quilt Fayre, and we know you will enjoy her class. Jacki has been quilting for over 20 years and her Instagram page , Heritage Quilts NI, is a good place to check out samples of her work. Jacki finds quilting therapeutic, and will want to share that with you also, she loves creating with fabric and is confident that this new skill will allow you to create something special.

In this class you will learn to use free motion stitching to create a mountain sheep applique using a mixture of reclaimed textiles, felt and Irish linen. You will explore the various stitching techniwues to gain confidence in your free motion abilities. Completed panel can be finished as a hanging or a cushion.
Free motion foot will be required, along with your sewing machine and students should bring a black and grey neutral thread and a basic sewing kit with them to class.
